Generic Cigarette Lighter Question?

My truck did not come with a cigarette lighter, it just has a plastic plug in it.
Will a parts store replacement light like the one below fit right in , or will I also need the stock bezel ?

Re: Generic Cigarette Lighter Question?

ehh,, I personally would'nt mess with that generic assem. when you can pick up a whole complete orig. assem. for $15.95 according to my Classic parts catalog...

Re: Generic Cigarette Lighter Question?

They may be better quality this days, but many years ago, I bought one at the local parts store and it was a waste of money. Never worked right and the fit was slightly off.

Best bet is to find an original one or as culp7 says, buy a new original.

Re: Generic Cigarette Lighter Question?

I'd buy the repro if you want the lighter. The knob matches the rest of the dash knobs and the bezel looks nice. If you just want a power socket, you could use a generic lighter and probably put the plastic plug in it when your not using it. That would keep your dash's original look.
