New guy in WA

Hi all,
I transferred over from the GM Trucks forum when he announced it is closing and recommended this forum.

I have a new project truck that I am starting a frame up restoration. This truck has been parked on a farm in northern NV for 20+ year. It ran when it was parked. Some rust to repair and a lot of work needed inside the cab (many generations of critters called it home)

The big thing is this truck has a 425HP 427 BBC in it. Casting numbers indicate it is a 66 L-72 out of a Vet. I know the motor was taken down to 10:1 compression at one time due to the crap gas now sold. It got a valve job then and new bearings. It is estimated that it has 30K since that was done and before it was parked.

Photos to come soon, I promise

I was told this Project had a L-72 427 425HP, It did not.
It does have a 427 block and parts from various 427 motors. It will end up with a nice strong 454 in the end.
It has not been run for 20+ years
