Does anyone have a chinese knock-off ATV?

This might be a long shot, but here goes.
Does anyone have a chinese made knock-off ATV with a Zongshen motor?
My neighbors kids unplugged the wires coming out of the left side of the engine case and I can't find a diagram on the web.
So if you or your kids have a little 4-stroke atv can you check to see if it's a zongshen motor.
And if it is can you tell me how the wires are connected?
There are 5 wires in question
white,yellow,blue/white,black/red, and green.
Any help would be appreciated.
Todd

Re: Does anyone have a chinese knock-off ATV?

Todd,

We sell knock-off atv's and scooters at work and I'm stuck working on them....

Their good about not having any repair info available for these dang things.

What color are the wires coming off the engine ?

You really don't want to guess, If one of the stator wires is plugged to the cdi box it could blow it.

If you don't get a answer before Monday I'll try to take a look and see what I can find out.

Re: Does anyone have a chinese knock-off ATV?

Hey thanks, man. the wire colors listed above are coming out of the engine case.
I'm afraid to just start plugging them in for the reason you mentioned.
Also with these wires disconnected the starter will not turn.
I tried to hold the starter button and check for voltage.
No luck so far........

Re: Does anyone have a chinese knock-off ATV?

If that's the engine wire colors you listed what are the harness colors ?

See, Many different companies use this same engine on their units but have different color harness wires. I see this all the time when assembling new units, It's like the Chinese are color blind.... LOL

BTW, Some of these units have a safety switch where the brake must be applied before it will turn over.

The wires on the harness are:
white,yellow,blue/white,black/red,yellow/red.
There is also a small harness with a yellow/red and a pink wire.
No names or labels anywhere on this thing.
AARRGGHH!

Re: Does anyone have a chinese knock-off ATV?

Are they sold locally anywhere close to you? Just go to the store and look at one. take a pen and piece of paper. Diagrams are non existent for the chinese stuff. have you tried emailing them?

Re: Does anyone have a chinese knock-off ATV?

Is that a 110 or 125?? I can help you. We deal with these Chinese motors all the time. I have one on my Trail 70.

Its basically match the wires up coming off the motor to the wires coming off the main harness.
