Tonneau covers for 68???
What different types are there and does anyone have pics? Looking to maybe just relocate my tank to the bed, using the same tank and just mount it up against the front, and would like to hide it using a cover. I've got a 68 short fleet. Thanks guys

Checkmate makes a very nice looking, flush mount, cover for vintage trucks.
Found pics of the one we have here--->http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...d.php?t=288804 Last edited by Myself; 03-02-2010 at 02:28 PM. |

My only "comlaint" is the front hing is flat while the top of the bed "header panel" is rounded, and it's difficult to mount (drill and screw) into the rounded part. I'll post a pic later. |

I just bought an Extang Revolution, but am waiting to receive it. I'll try posting pics when it's on. Oh, and it was $413 shipped.

Re: Tonneau covers for 68???
I just installed an Extang Revolution on my 69 ... it went on slick and looks great. Bought it from Auto Anything for $413, also. It uses a clamped frame and is snapless ... it rolls up for access or the tarp can be readily removed without removal of the frame.

I bought an Extang soft cover on an aluminum frame for $250 (frame clamps to rail, cover snaps onto frame)

That sure is a nice looking cover, but 650 is a little steep for me right now!

Re: Tonneau covers for 68???
I have a soft one that I got out of LMC 3 years back. The rails are removable, held in place by camper clamps. Its not the gratest thing in the world, but the no drill thing, the price, and easy installation make up for anything that it lacks.

Re: Tonneau covers for 68???
Gaylords makes the best, hands down. They are fiberglass and run about $1000, but well worth it. You will have the worlds largest trunk.

Re: Tonneau covers for 68???
I would agree...but in my case I need a little more flexabilty.

Re: Tonneau covers for 68???
As strange as it might seem, some folk actually use these trucks occasionally as a TRUCK!

anybody using the xtang have a pic? I like the snapless, rollup/flip up/one person removal option for my 4x4.

Truxedo is my favorite. Heavy duty. Rolls up easily and nice looking.

Re: Tonneau covers for 68???
Just my opinion but this is one of the best on the market. comes in manual or electric with remote. Is very expensive at around $1600 for the electric. It is all aluminum and pretty much theft proof. http://www.pace-edwards.com/?gclid=C...FQs_gwodVUABGw
