add a spring
A freind of mine gave me an add a leaf spring for the front of my 87 1 ton 4x4. How do I install it? I could probably figure it out, but you guys sure have saved me some time and headaches in the past. Thanks in advance.

Its really easy. Use a big c clamp on the leaf pack before you take the center pin out or the leaves will try to fly everywhere. If you spray the center pin with some PB Blaster or whatever you may be able to get it apart w/o breaking it(it's been 50/50 for me lol). If you do break it you can order some or make new ones by grinding the hex head of a bolt to fit the hole in the spring perch.
Most say don't re-use your old U-bolts when you take that stuff apart but thats up to you, I've re-used them with no problems but it only takes once. Others can chime in with more details but its pretty strait forward. -John
