52" leaf springs on a 70 K10
I'm building a 70 K10, and I'm putting 52" springs on the front. I would love to buy the Diy kit, but I can fab my own stuff alot cheaper. Does anybody have any pictures of their install? I would just like some side shots for reference. Has anybody used 56" springs for the rear? I'm converting a coilspring rear 2wd frame, so i'm building new mounts anyway.

If you are doing 52 in the front step up to 63 for the rear. Just do a search for pics of a install.

Re: 52" leaf springs on a 70 K10
I've been searching for 4 days on here, pirate, and coloradok5. I've been having ahard time finding good pictures. I think there is a good build on coloradok5, but you've got to pay to see the pictures. What did the 63" springs come on?

63" springs came on the rears of '88-'98 1/2 tons. What are your plans for your truck? Are you looking for flex or ride?

Re: 52" leaf springs on a 70 K10
With the 52's in the front, i'm looking for a cheap 5" lift, and a better ride. I plan on running a sway bar. And Duallyjams just recommended 63's in the rear. I probly won't wheel much.

Re: 52" leaf springs on a 70 K10
Keep me posted if you do this, I'd like pics. I have considered 52's in the front and planned on 56's in back. This is for my daily driver and I too would be looking for ride quality.

Re: 52" leaf springs on a 70 K10
I'm interested in this as well. I've been doing a bunch of work on my '71 lately and the ride quality is terrible. It has factory springs with 32's and could use about 2 more inches of lift. Are the 52" from the 73 and later trucks I'm assuming? And which mounting points need to be changed? Front or rear?

Re: 52" leaf springs on a 70 K10
I was just on their site looking at that kit. It's pretty nice, but for the money I would rather build the bracketry and spend the dough on the springs. I just went outside and measured my stock, dearched, 2 thick springs at 44"

Re: 52" leaf springs on a 70 K10
The 52" springs are what's on the rear of our 1/2 trucks, up til 87 I think. The ones I'm useing came off a late 70s suburban. I read somewhere that you should look for springs from a 2wd since they probably weren't abused as bad. You have to move both spring mounts a few inches. I just started a new build thread. One of the first things I'm doing is the front springs.

Re: 52" leaf springs on a 70 K10
I did the swap to 52's, but I used a slider for the rear mount so that I had less lift. Ended up with about 3".

Re: 52" leaf springs on a 70 K10
Yes lets see a pic. That's all the height that I'd need.
