Factory Buckets or Factory Bench Seat
For those of you that have factory bucket seats and console, how do you like them vs the bench seat? I've never sat in or driven one of our trucks with bucket seats. I've always liked the look of the factory bucket seats and wanted some for my truck until recently. I got to thinking about how I like the bench seat in my truck. I can stretch my arm out across the back of my seat, fit more than two people in my truck, it sits up good and you can see really well.
Anyway, this may seem like a silly topic because most people probably like the bucket seats. I was just wondering if I should still try to go the bucket seat route or get a really nice seat cover for my bench seat one day. |

Re: Factory Buckets or Factory Bench Seat
Only one problem, not everyone has four or five sets of buddy buckets in their stash! lol And $500 to $800 for seats that may need foam and recovering is steep for most people. But, if I had the money and could find a good set here in Florida, I'd go with buddy buckets.

Re: Factory Buckets or Factory Bench Seat
The bench must be a full foam version available in the higher end trucks, the buddy buckets in my 68 are the best sitting seats I have (3 trucks with buckets, 3 with bench) and that is verses two sets of completely rebuilt 71-72 bucket seats. The buddies seem to fit your (my) back better than the others do.

Re: Factory Buckets or Factory Bench Seat
I'll be finding out soon enough. I have a set of buddies and a set of buckets going into the next 2 projects. I will say the bench in my current truck is quite comfortable though - just hoping for some more lateral support.

Re: Factory Buckets or Factory Bench Seat
I restored a set of buddy buckets and had them in my K20. They looked great, were comfortable and had this nice storage under the middle jump seat.
But Im going to be the odd man out here ... I got rid of them and put a bench back in. Just something about a bench seat and an old truck that works for me. I can ride three across and the middle person isnt sitting on a jump seat. I like tossing my stuff on the bench when Im by myself. I know, blah blah blah, we all have different tastes =)

Re: Factory Buckets or Factory Bench Seat
Buddy Buckets for 67-68 only.
(my opinion) Regular sport buckets/console combo or bench in the 69-72 trucks!
