Yall, please send good vibes and strength my way. I have a very important interview with the County School Board this afternoon at 3:00. I have been trying to get on with the District for 2 years now. I have way more going for me this time around, as I have way more experience and I am further on my degree. But, with everything thats going on with my dad right now, I cant think straight.

Had the interview (interrogation), Yes, I was nervous, even though I kinda knew some of the guys on the panel. I just dont do interviews well, now for the waiting game. Sorry you didn't get the job Jodie ,,You probably passed ,,it's just that it might be like around here for getting a goverment job:: They already have some one in mind and they still take interviews .Hang in there,,Maybe next time it will be you that is who they have in mind .

yeah thats what they do here as well. they already have people they are going to hire(family and connects) but in order to not get in trouble they have to do "interviews" to get the most qualified person

Thanks yall. No I didnt get the position I applied for which was elementary Para-Professional. Thats what Ive been training for and what Im going to school for. Truth is, I totally suck at interviews. I freeze up and draw blanks, so I find myself trying to dazzle with BS to get thru. I know all of these guys (on the interview panel), they are my husbands colleagues. I shouldnt have been nervous. Everyone who interviews is judged on a number scale according to answers, so there is no tweaking it for favorites. One of the Administrators called back and offered me a temp position doing something I have no experience in, secretary. But he believes in me and "wants me on his team". Its temp, but it could work into something permanent in about 4 months. I dont have a problem learning new stuff, but if I was going in to a position that Im familiar I could really shine because Id know what I was doing... With this one Im starting from scratch. So here we go, a new adventure. To all who are awaiting information on a job. GOOD LUCK!!

Go for it Jodie.Whatever you do,just make the job yours.You'll get where you want to be.As far as Interveiws just keep setting them up.It's like public speaking,the more of it you do the better you get at it.Just interveiw for any position you can.You might also try the colege.You could be a "Guinea Flower"(see,I didn't dis you)for the classes in Human resources.A little practice and you'll shine in an interveiw.

... You will do fine with your foot in the door. .... if one of the Admins wants you around it is good. ...... if you are as nice to those around you at work as you are to us on this site, you will gravitate to something bigger and better there. .... besides ... they get an employee who wants to do a good job and loves kids. .... it is a win win. congratulations.
