455 swap

Hello i have asked one time before but now i have a motor i would like info on installing a olds 455 in to my 1967 chevy short bed, the truck is a 3 speed manual and want to go to a automatic short shaft tranny any info would be greatfull thank you Kelly Cotter

Hey Kelly
Last week I came across a guy who has a 350 Olds powered GMC.His user name is Glennerd,has lots of pics to show mounts.He bought it that way,but he may be able to give you some info on how the Olds is set up.I wrote him telling him how 10 years ago I had thought of doing the same,had a 455 powered Olds that wasn`t restorable.Kinda glad I didn`t.I scrapped that car but bought an identical one that has a non running 350 that I`m seriously thinking of building to put in my 72 GMC.Tired of the Chevy leaking oil.
I don`t think there would be any problems in putting one in there,except maybe headers would be tight fit,& also the front coils would need to be swapped out due to the increase in weight since your truck would have had a lighter small block or inline 6.
He isn`t in the builds & threads section,where he probably should be,he`s in the section where questions are asked.Its titled Olds Powered 72 GMC
