83 chevy fouled plugs
Hello all, nice site you all have here. I have a 83 chevy with a 350 engine off of a 76 chevy pu. I just installed this engine in the 83 pu. It has 50,000 miles on it.The problem im having is that it is fouling the plugs out. All of them. When i put the intake gasket on i cut a port on the gasket so it can get hot air to the choke being that it is original and not electric. Wonder if this could be causing it. Let me add that the truck had been sitting for a little over 2 yrs. It throws out black smoke. The plugs dont come out wet just black powder. Well one came out a little wet smelling lilke fuel. Please help. This is driving me nuts.

Re: 83 chevy fouled plugs
If your exhausting black smoke then your burning to rich which will cause your plugs to foul. Suggest you do some carb work, check your timing.
