Modern Masters Oxidizing Paint - faux rust!

Anyone ever experiment with Modern Masters oxidizing paint? The pics on their website look amazing and appear to make some pretty amazing and realistic rust. My truck body isn't the greatest and I don't have the patience to do bodywork and paint... If I get it close and coat the truck with this stuff, I wonder how it will look. Here is the website...

http://www.modernmasters.com/product...e=group&gid=68

If you go to the "shop" section, there are videos and it looks super easy, it's roll and brush on.

What do the experts think?

Aloha from Hawaii,
Frank

Re: Modern Masters Oxidizing Paint - faux rust!

They sell it all over. I went to their website, put in Hawaii and boom! There is a place here that sells it. It maybe too much because there is no way to not do the whole truck with it... I don't know... Was wondering if it has gotten any use on a car/truck yet. I think I am gonna try it later this year when I fix all my actual rust. Ha ha ha if anything, it's about 400 to do the whole truck.

Re: Modern Masters Oxidizing Paint - faux rust!

I like the idea. However, I think the Iron B stuff makes the rust more realistic in an automotive application.

The blue is combination of roller and brush. However, I'd ask 5150 about the process.

I hear ya . Rusty was always considered ugly and undesirable, especially on a vehicle . Now people want it , I don't understand it either .

Re: Modern Masters Oxidizing Paint - faux rust!

When u pay for my truck, you are welcome to put a shinny 7k paint job on it and keep it parked in a garage with no joy of driving... Live in fear of a scratch or rock chip... Until then, I am drivinging it till the wheels fall off!

To each their own!
