Never thought I would buy an Avalanch but...

I did... Was looking for and extended cab pickup but came accross this '05 with 100K miles on it for $11,000. It's an LT with leather and all the bells and whistles. Needed brakes, shocks and struts, new tires and a tranny flush but it is in great shape and I haven't seen many this color. It caught my eye and I bought it .

Re: Never thought I would buy an Avalanch but...

I've given thought to buying one myself. With that small box they aren't much good for hauling anything. Golf clubs maybe. Some folks do tow a bit with them. I thought the first gens were ugly with all that body cladding on em. Others thought so too as they don't have nearly as much on them now. That is a pretty color on yours. They do ride nice dont' they?

Thanks for the vote of confidence . I always thought they were ugly too but I guess this one wasn't quite as ugly.

Yes Boog, they ride like a dream and the box is surprisingly large. You wouldn't want to haul a load of sand in it but it's about 2-1/2 feet tall under the cover... You could pack a ton of stuff in there.

At the end of the day, this is my "winter beater". I drive my '02 SWB in the summer (and it rarely sees the rain)... And, when it's real nice I drive my '70 .

Ah... now THAT '70 is a good looking truck there. Now we're talking... sweet green color too.

p.s. wasn't hating, it's a nice ride you got, but the Avy has never turned my crank. The only one I've ever sorta liked was a project truck that 4wheel and off road did years ago when they were new... they replaced the front and back bumpers with something more manly looking and lifted it, etc..

No worries... I took your comment for what it was - A little jab .

As I said in an earlier post, I have never been a big fan and still prefer a "real" truck. I got a decent enough deal on it, it's practical for my life at the moment (hauling kids and gear around) and it looks good so I think I'll keep it .
