I bought a rearend for my 87 from the local vo-tec. They completely rebuilt it inside. They have been using it for teaching for years. I have installed it and found all the studs are worn out. I guess it has had a lot of lug nuts on and off in all those years. When I put my torque thrusts on the acorn lugs acted like they were too big, looks like i get to install 10 studs now.

i just put all new studs in my camaro by hand...what a pain

Replacing the wheel studs is pretty easy.
Punch the old ones out.
Draw the new ones in with a flat sided nut. Use a large nut, or stack of washers on the stud so you don't worry about your threaded nut bottoming out.

Before you do all that make certain you have the right size lug nuts. It would stink to do all that just to find out your acorn lug nuts were the wrong size.

When I changed the axles in my truck to the 30 spline 90s ones the lug nuts were bigger and I just got some 19mm lug nuts and it worked great on my TTII

Bigger studs aren't a bad thing

I know it sounds crazy , but lugs on the front are fine. These studs on the rear will only tighten up with some lugs. Tried the lugs on a new stud and they are fine.
