292 motor mounts

Hello, I'm new to this forum and am having a problem rebuilding my 1967 pickup, specifically with the motor mounts (its got a 292 6 cyl). Now I know that there are many posts on this subject and I've tried to read them all, but I'm still confused so I hope you are patience with me. First, let me list what I have found out and please someone let me know if its right. There are three (3) pieces to each side mount. First, what I have heard mostly referred to as a "perch" or "engine stand". This piece bolts to the frame at top (two bolts) and to the frame cross member at the bottom (one bolt). The perch for the passenger side is 292 specific (which I have been able to obtain). Secondly is the rubber motor block which is the same for both passenger and driver sides. Thirdly, what I have seen referred to as the "knee bracket" or "outer metal shell". This knee attaches to the engine and to the perch with the rubber mount in between. Well, as I was installing the passenger side knee bracket to the rubber mount I find that only the top bolt goes far enough to reach the engine block, the bottom two holes on the knee bracet don't reach the bottom two holes on the block because the knee brack is bent back away from the engine (leaving about 7/8 inch space between bracket and engine block at the bottom). The bolt hole bosses on the block are all on the same vertical plane so having the knee brack bent back away from the engine on the bottom leaves this gap. Does this mean that the "knee bracket" for the passenger side is also "292 specific" like the motor perch/stand? And if so, does anyone out there have one for sale. This has been a real trial for me, but maybe it has been for others to. Any and all suggestions will be GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thanks, jervin

Re: 292 motor mounts

i think there are 2 small round spacers at the bottom 2 bolt holes between the mount and the engine. Woody
