Oil pressure slipping?
I've heard that the oil pressure needle needs to be around 20 at idle, it is that way on mine, but after some highway driving, it dips to around 10 to 15 at a stop. If this is not enough, what can I do?

I wouldn't worry about it too much. As you drive and your engine heats up, the oil thins out so your oil pressure will be lower than on a cold engine. You might try a heaver grade oil and see if it helps.

I agree with Roberty, it should be ok. If you are still concerned about the pressure, obtain a gauge that is known to be accurate and check the pressure as a comparison. If you have a factory gauge, it may not be that accurate.

You'll be fine, rule of thumb is 10 psi per 1000 rpms on a hot used engine.

How can you tell how many psi the oil pressure is at? I have the original gauge and it just has a H and a L on it with some lines in the middle. Thanks

oil pressure
On my truck I have 2 gauges--orginal & aftermarket. When aftermarket reads 60 psi orginal reads last mark to right. Orginal guage reads 0 left-30 middle- 60 right. ( that is the way mine reads) Where should a gas guage read when full?-mine reads past full down on the next marks. I had the pointer off to repaint could I have put it back on in the wrong place? Anyone?
