I Like My 85 Better
For the last month I've had my Dad's 2005 Silverado Crewcab, it's a nice truck but I like my 85 better. Sure the a/c blows colder in the new one, a bit more comfortable, and it's a little better on gas, but my truck is a lot quicker, handles better, and feels like a tighter, more solid truck.

Re: I Like My 85 Better
My father has a 2003 3/4 ton 6.0 he bought new and my neighbor has a 2003 Duramax 3/4 ton he bought new. I've driven both trucks and they both are very nice riding trucks and very comfy.
I choose my old 79 1 ton pickup for alot of other reasons though. For one it's cheaper ![]() ![]() Just not the same pulling them around in a brand new truck, that's just me though. |

Re: I Like My 85 Better
The 85 will be probably be around another 30 years, the 05 will be in the landfill in 20 years.I drive a 87 and 86 3/4 4x4 for daily work trucks, for what I am using the truck for an IRS would be done in a year. They might ride a bit rougher, but hey it's a truck! Easy to work on,parts are plentiful and I enjoy driving them....
