Exclamation Edelbrock Fuel pump issue

After installing my Edelbrock performer mechanical fuel pump, there is a ticking that gets louder the higher the RPMs are. Sounds like maybe the fuel pump rod isn't hitting the camshaft lobe quite right or something or it's bouncing on and off it. Anyone have a suggestion? 350 SBC

Re: Edelbrock Fuel pump issue

i'd take the pump off then use axel grease to hold the pushrod in the up position and reinstall the pump// and seee if that sol;ved the problem

Re: Edelbrock Fuel pump issue

Wow that sounds pretty rough. I would swap the stock pump back in and see if the noise stays.

See if the spring on the pump arm is missing or broke.

Call 'em back on a phone that has a speakerphone; activate the sp'phone, lay receiver down, and read a good auto magazine until somebody answers. hth

that is a reason why i pay attention to who i buy from// a cheap cheap deal on the internet when a part is bad is not good where if you buy from a major place like summit, speedway motors even JCwhitney no hoops to jump thru no major waits on hold pretty much send it back for replacement or credit no question just quick and easy/// most will even send you prepaid shipping lables so they take that cost to as part of thier CUSTOMER SERVICE
