CPP c-notch mounting?
I have the hole cut and the notch lined up, but I bought the notch from a buddy and it did not come with instructions, so I am unsure about a couple things. The main thing is, does the shock crossmember go between the frame and the notch, or outside, and is it a good idea to weld it in and box the frame there?

Re: CPP c-notch mounting?
Justin, I just looked at your build and the c-notch install. You did a nice job on the notch, the brace you took out is where your shocks will mount to. You can weld the notch in along with bolting it to the frame also for the extra strength.

Re: CPP c-notch mounting?
Thanks! So does the shock crossmember go under or over the notch? Oor is it up to me? I know stock it was under the frame.

Re: CPP c-notch mounting?
No problem, just put the crossmember back to how it was stock.

Something to think about while you have it out. U want the shock to be almost straight up and down when done. I would suggest the No limit shock relocator. I bought it for my 71 and the truck rides great.
Are make you a set if you can cut and weld. ![]() ![]() ![]()

I have been drooling over that kit for a while, unfortunately shipping woulbe crazy so I will probably make my own. They may stay inboard of the frame, however.

Re: CPP c-notch mounting?
So does the notch mount over the crossmember at the spring mount? Looks like its going to need some trimming ..

Re: CPP c-notch mounting?
The crossmember is supposed to mount over, so some trimming would be required. I ended up building a custom crossmember anyways, so it doesn't matter. I'm sure it would be fine either way, though. 3/16" really isn't that big of a deal, especially if you want to strengthen the notch by welding it in.
