SPID question

Since the spid is such an important piece of information I got to wondering.
Are there any cases of an incorrect spid?
Example: everything correct except one RPO item on a known truck.

Re: SPID question

I don't know about one specific item, but there has been the rare cases of workers putting the wrong glove box on a truck, as in the SPID reads xxxxx3 on an xxxxx4 truck. I would bet money SPID's have been wrong from time to time.

Re: SPID question

Yeah, I was thinking there had to be a few mistakes due to the numbers of units made.
My exact thought was a truck the was clearly orange having blue paint or a manual with an auto listed or some such. Just pondering what ifs... No real purpose
