Ever ship a hood?

I just got asked to find a good hood for a 87 stepside.
1) are all the hoods for 81-87 the same?
2) what would be a good truck line to ship it thru?
3) will they help me box it up?

1. I believe the 81-87 OEM hoods all fit. They changed after 1980.

2. Yellow Freight is pretty reasonable and they ship nationwide.
You have to make sure the shipper is a national vs. regional.

3. No, freight company do not normally crate or box things up for
you. Perhaps a freight forwarding company would though. But
the cost of crating or boxing will undoubtfully be cost
prohibited. The cost of boxing or crating, and actual shipping
will cost more than the hood is worth. That is why most hoods
on Ebay is for pickup locally.
