After market wheels for 68 stepside
Anyone have any good ideas about nice wheels for a 1968 stepside? Would like something driveable. Planning on lowering the front 2.5 and the rear 4". Right now the truck has 6 lug wheels all the way around.
Thanks-Mika |

Are you planning on switching to 5-lug?
I find, that there are more options in 5-lug. What diameter are you looking for? 15's? 18's? 20's?

I would go Classic Cragars with BF Goodrich radial T/As. Classic Old School!! Love em!! These are TTIIs.

I love the old cragars too. Probably will do them when I figure out the brakes and changing the 6 lugs out.

We where still undecided on the final wheel size and type when we swapped over to 5 lug as well..so we just bought some cheap 5-lug AERO rims "$50.00" each for the time being so we could enjoy driving the truck... That was 2 years ago, and now these wheels have grown on us and just may stick around until we get the truck painted. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ae...5040/overview/ Not everyone's cup of tea, but they where priced right, fit perfect & they got us down the road... Alot of detailed photos in our Google albums if your interested... ![]() Scott

Re: After market wheels for 68 stepside
Those actually look pretty cool.. I could see a whole nascar/protouring look built around those.... Nice

Re: After market wheels for 68 stepside
The style wheel that will look best on any truck depends alot on the way the truck is built and the color/paint job. Does the truck have alot of chrome or polished aluminum, or is it all painted. Original color, or late model metalic, or primer black. Its best to match a style or theme.
