Notching the frame
Well my truck is on a very slow budget build. luckily i have multiple vehicles so i dont mind my truck being down for a weekend or a few days i just hate the whole let it sit for months on end. plus I dont have a garage
![]() I did a flip kit on my truck last fall and chopped the coils a little. well the front is obviously a little higher then I want but I want to do spindles and coils in the front but due to funds thats gonna have to wait a little. I plan on pulling the bed again once the weather breaks so i can clean the underside of the bed up and spray rubber coating along with some rust repair and take a wire brush to the frame and all again and really go all out cleaning it up.... possibly a 12 bolt swap if I get lucky... My next step I am thinking will be notching the rear axle and shocks all around. so this is where I am asking for help from yall. the roads around here are freaking HORRIBLE and even puting around my rear will jump around after smacking the frame. I am sure the for what i think are stock shocks are worn and will help but while i have the bed off I might as well notch it.. Can i just grab a c-notch brace off ebay and be good? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1973-87-Chev...ca4af0&vxp=mtr Or is there something better? If i had my garage and welder here with me (military) i would just grab some flat stock and build it myself and weld it all in.... Thanks for the help guys. just so you know heres what my lady looks like ![]() shes got a different grille and wheels but ultimately will go back to the black dwindows when i get my 295s and 255s and sorry shes soooo busted looking. the PO didnt really care and spray bombed everything. i am slowly trying to get everything taken care of
