Re: Bad day for daughters 67
I hate stupid people who can't be bothered to look where they are going. I hope your daughter wasn't injured too badly, 7 months later and I'm still recovering from being rear ended.

Re: Bad day for daughters 67
That sucks.. Glad she's ok, but definitely get her checked out good.. Some injuries will stay around for years. That looked like a nice truck. Is anything salvageable on it?

Re: Bad day for daughters 67
Glad she is ok. That truck is not that bad, i rebuild wrecks for a living and I'll tell you it isn't much more than a Walmart door ding. I see ten times worse on a weekly basis when I go to the sale I 'm not doing a good job of cheering you up but it isn't past fixing i can promise you.

Re: Bad day for daughters 67
Other than shoved whole truck foward. Twisted frame and trashed bed, cab broke rear tail shaft housing on trans bent drive shaft. But your right money can fix anything but bet ins company may see different.

I wouldn't be in a hurry to settle with the Ins company. Problems could arise with your daughter a couple of weeks later... Glad she appears to be OK though. Just a thought. LockDoc

Re: Bad day for daughters 67
I'll second that. In 2007 my wife ran into the side of a young girl that pulled out in front of her and she had no place to go. Unquestionably the others fault. Our car wasn't really that bad (totaled but still drivable) and we settled with their insurance a few weeks later. Even now she is feeling the effects of the wreck, she has some minor back and neck pain to this day. I would wait as long as you can to settle to be sure she is OK. You just get so wrapped up in the car sometimes that you lose focus on the future, I know we did. We got the totaled car back and some money that sorta made that part OK, but my wife is still hurting 8 years later and that is hard to put a value on. Glad your daughter is OK.

Re: Bad day for daughters 67
lucky I have several friends we ride antique motorcycles together that are attorneys they are going too keep me in line. I am not the type of person that goes after money all I want is what's due and make sure she is ok. This morning she is very dizzy and pale as ghost so we are heading back to doc shortly.

Re: Bad day for daughters 67
Hope your daughter is fine.
Sucks to start over on the truck! Been there, done that! 2005 driving a Dodge Van rear ended, I did NOT settle immediately. Their insurance wanted to give me a few thousand dollars to settle right away while I was still seeing Chiropractor. After a couple months, no change in pain, had to get spinal surgery. Do NOT settle too fast, and do NOT tell their insurance anything at all! Bill |

Re: Bad day for daughters 67
Glad to hear she is OK.
If I had to start over again myself, I wouldn't even touch the 67-69's. I'd be looking for a loaded 71/72 short bed (PS, PDB, A/C, 5 lug, etc) and put that 67 clip on it and shave the rear markers. Most of everything I've done/added to my 67 was pretty much standard (or highly likely to be optioned) on a truck by 71/72.

Re: Bad day for daughters 67
Cool. Yeah, it's really funny to look at/find trucks that were original to 1967-1968 and in the vast majority of the trucks you'll likely find "power nothing", a straight six, and a 3 speed. Trucks explode in popularity as "daily drivers" and by 1971/72 you have disc brakes and *most* trucks came standard (or optioned with) PS, PDB, A/C, V8s, Automatics, etc. It's kind of cool to see the vast change in how trucks were built/ordered over such a short time period and over the same body style.
