Wanted: Door relay spring - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hi guys
I wonder if anyone of you wonderful people can help me out.
During my 57 gmc rebuild I have found that the drivers door relay has a snapped spring.
Its the coiled one, and can be removed by opening up the housing.

It will be near enough impossible to get one here in the UK, so any able to source me one?

I'm not quite following what you are asking for. Relay for electric door openers, relays for electric windows? Relay for dome light when door opens? Or ????????????????

The "door relay" is the mechanical mechanism that the interior door handle attaches to, that converts the rotary motion of the handle to linear push rod action to operate the door lock.

It's called a door relay in LMC's and Brothers' catalogues.

Hi Steve,

I had the same problem of spring broken on the door relay of the passenger side of my truck. I made long searches without finding the spring alone. Finaly bough a replacement door relay 'assy' from LMC...

Just my 2 cents

My ongoing truck projects: 48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six. 71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant. 77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
