1968 Chevy truck paint
I have a quick paint question. The truck I just bought is maroon inside and out except under the seat which is that light blue Chevy color. Plus the bed is peeling and the Its also the color blue is under the maroon. So did Chevy use that blue as a primer? Or did someone really paint the whole inside and out that maroon color.

Re: 1968 Chevy truck paint
Primer was never blue.
Primer would be either red metal or grey for sprayed on (depending on final assembly location) or flat black* (for ELPO dip). K *Janesville also had a grey ELPO paint for some model years and certain parts.

Re: 1968 Chevy truck paint
Well first off the maroon color was only available in the 69 model year. So if your truck is a 68 it aint factory. There was no blue primer I know of until PPG came out with the DP witch is epoxy primer and black is 90 there was a blue for a time but i don't remember the number. They had black, white ,blue, red and grey. They cut that back to just black and white and grey [I think]
