When was the last time you saw the King's eyes?

Received this with a Merry Christmas from Petty's Garage. No hat, no shades, no cowboy boots.

It's been many a year for sure. That's a nice pic. I bet they had a house full.

I met Richard a couple years ago. Nascar was in town and he showed up at a volunteer event at a local food bank. We did some sorting and repacking of food. While several execs took part for the photo op, the King stayed on the line working right across from me until we were done. Then graciously posed for photos and signed autographs as long as anyone wanted one. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/member.php?u=91092

Re: When was the last time you saw the King's eyes?

I'd say it was sometime in the mid-70s that I saw him w/o his trademark look. It was once the Charlie Daniels Band hit the scene hot & heavy. The big feathers in a straw cowboy hate became a popular look and Richard went for it and kept it!
He is a cool person. It was when he and the bunch he raced with where doing it that I last had much interest in NASCAR. We used to just call it Stock Car Racing until about that time.
