I am putting a 454 in my 68 C10. Long or short water pump?

Re: 454

That depends on how you position the engine and if you use the factory 396 mounts. But all factory 396-402s in 68-72 were short water pump installations.

Re: 454

Long mounts usually put the alternator on the passenger side. Would require rewiring. I'm building a 427 for my '69 and will be buying Hi-Perf passenger car deep groove pulleys for short pump for mine.
