72 Cheyenne Super on Ebay question

There is a 72 K10 on ebay and it is promoted as a Cheyenne Super. VERY nice pickup. The SPID might be a reproduction though, as it lists it as a Highlander also. Cheyenne Super nixed the Highlander option, correct? Or could you get a Super with the plaid bench seat? It has the houndstooth interior at the moment. I am interested in it, but want an all original Cheyenne Super short bed 4x4. This has too many red flags for me. Thoughts?

See it here:http://www.ebay.com/itm/1972-Chevrol...p2056016.l4276

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super on Ebay question

Absolutely that is a remade SPID. Highlander trucks were all Custom Deluxe trucks. And there wasn't a black highlander seat offered. Buyer beware and check for a possible cut and shortened frame too.

Yep. I'm not sure if it was all factories but the RPO's should be six digits. At least my 72's were.

Only 4wd highlanders were k5s. Nice truck but a buyer should do careful due diligence. Needs stainless tailgate handle cover.

I think it's very thoughtful of them to leave the fuel gauge non-operatioal so that the new owner "had something to tinker with"

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super on Ebay question

Thanks for the replies guys. It's a beautiful truck, but I will wait for an original 1971/72 Cheyenne Super 4x4 short bed with original paint (flaws are easier for me to detect without a restoration/paint job).

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super on Ebay question

for that money, it should be original and it's far from it. Seller shoulda checked here first if he wanted to fake a spid a little better. Perhaps this is the purple unicorn: the Super Highlander. Yes, nice truck. But would have been nicer restored to what it actually used to be, whatever that was.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super on Ebay question

If you find a real short bed 1/2 ton 4x4 with air and the Cheyenne Super option with original paint anything close to the condition of the truck pictured it will be well north of $30K. At least anywhere in or around Tennessee. Very hard to find such a truck but I wish you the best of luck.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super on Ebay question

That's a pretty nice truck.
Someone that isn't a nit-picker like all of us on this site will scoop it up.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super on Ebay question

What about this truck? I'd do the rust repair, paint it put a fresh houndstooth seat cover in it and keep the other $15,000 in the bank.
