Increasingly OCD
I'm OCD but with my truck, it's getting worse. (Or "better" depending on your view).
One of my two fender-to-core support brackets flaked off some paint. That's annoying as I had primer coated it underneath and it still happened. I want to take it off and redo it, I don't want to remove the fender again though, I'll block it underneath and tie it to the core support during, but does this happen to you? Are you this OCD? |

Re: Increasingly OCD
Rust can never be gone good enough. Sounds like you are deciding how professional a job you like to do.
When the Guys at the Tire Shop took off my 8 luggers and viewed copper anti-sieze on my lugs the viewed my old truck quite a bit differently. |

...definitely not OCD.
A friend of mine is and its excruciating to watch him, given that he has a very hard time achieving happiness or even reasonable satisfaction with his work and his efforts. The obsessiveness almost removes the fun out of anything automotive for him....plus the fear of something going wrong, or coming off or undoing, or getting scratched or fear of other possible failures, etc?....its endless. Its gotten to the point where he isn't licensing his car ('68 charger) anymore because of how it ramps him up.....yikes. That said...he might be on the extreme side of the OCD scale. What is the saying...... "Strive for Excellence" because it is relative and it is attainable.....and never strive for perfection, because it leads nowhere and isn't attainable. All Good Coley

Re: Increasingly OCD
It's bad man. CDO real bad. Shows we care, or at least that's my story.

Ahhh,
When I was a kid, my Dad always told me to not stop till it was Perfect. My Grandfather told me, Perfect is the enemy of Good. As I now approach my Grandfathers age, I still strive for Perfect. But if Good is right there I'll take it and move on.

Leftlane,
Love that Midwestern adage. The kids are always telling me I should write down the ones I learned growing up in Nebr. Told them to note them if they are that interested. They are usually triggered by something stupid anyway.

Re: Increasingly OCD
Aim high and it'll be good enough. Aim for good enough and you'll never hit it.
