What is this bracket called or was a previous owner custom job?
It broke last night and I can’t seem to find any reference to it on the internet

Looks like someone already removed the rivets and installed bolts.
Do you have a welder? know someone with a welder?

I do.. I just got it off the truck and he’s welding it together today. Also wondering are the splines supposed to be visible like that? I’m getting a new bearing on it as well

Re: What is this bracket called or was a previous owner custom job?
That's about average for the visible part of the spline on the second half of the drive shaft. It has to have room to go in when the chassis squats. Not a lot, but some. You're smart to put a bearing into the new carrier now, to save trouble later. Might as well look at the u-joints while you have it out, unless you know how long it has been since they were serviced.

got that bracket welded and fixed, and the carrier bearing replaced, u joints replaced, Drive shaft got new ears on the yoke where it was broken off, and all painted and new, and we are good! ride quality is so incredibly better!
