Restore 72 OUTER ALUMINUM grill help
I have a few dings in the upper corner of the outer grill.
I am aware that it was clear anodized from the factory. $300. + for a new one, I can't justify. I attempt with small jewelers type of ding hammer to tap back in shape. Anyone do this ? Your anodizing removal method and did you send out to get new anodizing or use a rattle can clear after ding removal |

Re: Restore 72 OUTER ALUMINUM grill help
If you’re refinishing the WHOLE grille shell, use either Aircraft Stripper, or Old School Oven Cleaner.
Be careful with either of these and it’s best to use them outside, for maximum ventilation. When you’re done with the polishing, use Ever-Coat to protect it. There’s a very detailed Thread on polishing the Grille Shell and Side Mouldings, just find it in the Search bar. |
