Flat bed vs regular bed

I am looking to get another C20 in year or so, and am on the look out for a cheap truck to build from. Since I have never had a flat bed. How are they to live with if you use your truck to mess around with?

Is it a case where the bed sides really come in handy, or the grass is always greener.

Today I saw a cool looking Ford F250 with about a 7 foot flat bed, and thought that it looked quit neat. To my eye needed drw in the back to fill it out better.

So it got me thinking of my next truck being a rclb flat bed dually instead of rcsb stepside. Of course with my tunnel rammed 383 I am gathering parts for.
