I know this is a very stupid situation, but my throttlebody "twitches" when I hook up the batt. & also when I use the turn signal switch!.. I do not even have a clue where to begin to figure out? I am hoping someone can help me trouble shoot (once they stop laughing). the engine is being installed and I have not fired up. I thought I had all powers wires correct, but I guess not....AARRGG!!
engine is a 4.8 stock with complete stock wire harness & stock fuse box truck is a 1986 c10 2wd with stock complete harness. please help! ![]() thanks ![]() |

Re: throttlebody powered by turn signal switch...AARRGG
I had a similar issue with my lights, and the windshield wipers.
It was a beat 66 C10 I got for practically nothing to do a quick flip because I had running gear. Turned out the motor was partially grounded, and the sudden surge current would cause a slight flicker in the light. Or atleast that is what I was told by the guy who I took it to. Along with the wiring being a bit hacked, and he fixed it all for me. So you may have a bad blinker module or wires are crossed somewhere in the circuit. My current stepside had a "expert" work on it before. Luckily everything works fine so far after I cleaned up the mess a bit. |

Zeig,
I will double check my ground wires especially under the dash. I thought it might be related to grounding, but the power to the throttlebody butterfly from the wiper switch is what is really confusing.... how are the 2 items connected?? aarrggg!! |

Is it possible to test if you run power to the throttle from the battery

Re: throttlebody powered by turn signal switch...AARRGG
well I have done a little more investigating & made "lifeline call" to a friend.... I am under the impression that the butterfly will "twitch" when power is connected each time? also he indicated that it "sounds" like I might have the dash power on the same circuit as the engine power? hence why the turn switch "activates" the throttle body? .. thoughts??
thanks! |
