71 Chevy K10 shortbed park cables
Hello all. Anyone know how to change park brake extension cables on 71 Chevy K10? It's been a while for me, seems like I had to bend the u-shaped part the cable slides through. Seems like i had trouble also with the long rod that attaches to the frame on the right side and connects over to the cable. I'm baffled, thanks for any info.

Re: 71 Chevy K10 shortbed park cables
If you completely remove the two jam nuts from the end of the parking brake pedal cable, then you should be able to slip the intermediate cable off of the frame rod and the two smaller frame hooks. No bending is needed under normal circumstances. Here are a couple of photos of the parking brake setup on my '71 K10. By the way, Inline Tube is a good source for the correct length intermediate cable.
