Question converting from manual to TH400
I have a 68 C10 that had a sbc with a four speed before I got it. Not sure what the truck was originally. I plan on installing a 402 with a TH400. My question is will I need to install a high hump center section in the floor?
Any info or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks. Scott |

Can't help with the big block but my TH400 behind a small block fits in with a small hump.

I have a 408 BB in my '67 and am in the middle of installing a TH400. It clears just fine and I have the small hump cab. I even used later model engine mounts that sit the engine slightly higher than the period correct mounts. All I'm waiting on now is my converter from Torco and shortening the driveshaft, then she'll be back on the road.

My truck is also a low hump conversion to big block and TH400. It's close, but it clears. If your cab mounts are saggy though, the cab will rub the transmission. New mounts will raise the cab up enough to relieve the problem.
