Vortec Heads

Did the 1995 Tahoe have the Vortec engine? CHP magazine claims that the Vortec came out in 1996 in Cheverolet trucks. That does not necessarily mean Tahoes. Then again, CHP has printed many retractions so who really knows?

Well pretty close! You could get a tbi with vortec heads in a boat!!!!!!!!! Vortec heads are easy to spot! They don't have any bolt holes in the center of the intake. The bolt holes at each end of the intake go straight down instead of angling toward the head.

I think when they went to the vortec heads in 96 they called it direct port injection instead of TBI.
