parting out truck
I have a 69 3/4 ton that I need to sell. It is a complete truck but disassembled.
-The cab is really rusty around the lower cab, I don't see any rust above the bottom of the windows. -I have three doors for it. They are all repairable, but have rust. -the hood is in good shape -the outer grill is pretty bent up, and the rad support, and inner fenders are rusty and would need work. -The front fenders have some rust in the usual lower corners and a little over the wheel. They could probably be repaired easily. -The rolling chassis is fine. Leaf sprung, 8 lug, 3/4 ton. There is no flaking rust, but barely some surface rust because I pulled off the bed and it got rained on. There are no structural problems with the frame. The sm465 is still bolted up along with the rear end (I forget which kind it is). *For the rolling chassis, cab, and front end I am asking $400. -The bed was purchased at a later date to replace the original rusty bed. I bought it from a guy who hauled it from down south. It is straight and solid. The tailgate has a few typical small holes from rust near the inside bottom. They could easily be repaired. The only other problem with it is that the original stock exhaust burnt a small rust spot near the bottom of the rear bed side. This would not be tough to fix. I also have all of the upper and lower trim for it. The pieces are fairly straight, but aren't polished. *I will not sell this bed for under $790 which is exactly what I paid for it. It may sound expensive to some of the southern people on here, but I searched everywhere for a bed in Michigan/northern Indiana and this was the very cheapest. They are impossible to find in junkyards. Everyone else wanted $900-$1200. I can get pictures upon request, just let me know. I will post them here, so I don't have to email the same picture to a bunch of people. thanks brad |

Here are some pictures of the bed. The tailgate only has three holes in it and you can see them in the pictures. The area around the holes is not weak (except for a little weakness around the largest hole) so you could easily weld in some patch metal. The rust spot from the exhaust apears worse in the picture than it actually is. The whole darkened area isn't all bad, just the small part that is about 2"x 2". It should be an easy fix. There are no major dents in the bed, but there are some small dings; nothing more than you would expect. Also, it has all of the holes for the trim pieces.

Well, since my computer is a piece of junk, I can't get any pictures. The trim is not shiny but the pieces are all straight except one which has a dent in it. You may be able to polish the pieces up. There is someone else on the board who is interested in the bed, and if he buys it the trim goes with. If he doesn't buy it, I will let you know and try to clean up the trim. Pm me next Saturday afternoon to see if the bed and trim are gone or not.

Take it to the top again. When the board was switched over, all of the pictures I had on here went away. I can try to get them to attach from my computer again if any of you think that you are seriously interested in any of the parts. Taking new pictures and saving them to the computer is another story.
Jimmywb- I don't already have pictures saved to my computer of the underside or the bottom of the bed. However, it isn't rusty. It's a solid southern bed and has never been driven in salt. it is clean and there aren't any major dents. The only rust it has is in the pictures I posted earlier (on the tailgate and the lower right bedside) 19mike69- The bed still hasn't sold, so the trim is up for grabs. You just want the lower pieces, right? based on my description, does it sound like something you would want? If your building a show truck, I wouldn't use this trim. It's okay for a driver though. |

Are you parting out the chassis or trying to sell it as a whole? If you are going to part it out I am looking for some rear axle spring hangars.
thanks, Thomas
