posi ???

i'm looking for a posi for my truck, and have heard of people gettin' the wrong ones. how do i know what posi will fit if i buy @ swap meet? also i have a 12 bolt from a 77 that i might use, can i find a posi for that rear end easier than my 70 10 bolt??

I think they were the same up to 1987. You just have to get 3 series or 4 series depending on what gears you will be using.

If your 70 is a 10 bolt, it already doesn't have the original rear end-it should have a 12 bolt. As I understand it, you should be able to use a 12 bolt truck carrier from 71 to late 70's, possibly early 80's. There has been a few posts that include photos of the truck 12 bolt. Maybe you can search for one of those for an idea of what they look like.

maybe i'm wrong about the rear end that's in it now, i'm sure it was never changed, the truck has been in my family since 70. i thaught it only had 10 bolts, maybe not.
