Thanks 9footfan, The wood bed was redone in ash and finished as original in black. My wife and I used Benjamin Moore exterior penetrating alkyd primer (2 coats) and Benjamin Moore Ironclad alkyd enamel black (low luster) (2 coats). Light sanding after each primer coat. As we used a brush to apply finish, consider thinning with "Penetrol" made by Flood. The paint will flow better and will produce a glass like finish with few brush marks. The skid strips were powdercoated gloss black and secured with stainless steel fasteners.
