crazy conversion

i have a 72 shortbed and an 89 4wd blazer, i was wondering if i could swap the body of the 72 to the 89. i know i have to weld on new body mounts for the cab and all, but i was just wondering if it would fit with the wheel base, engine clearances and all. if anyone has done this or looked into it, and have any advice let me know. thanks

the wheel bases aren't the same, ive seen where people have bolted/welded the box sides to a cab to make an ultra shortbox. personally i wouldn't do that unless you have great body skills or are willing to pay someone who does, it would end up looking hacked and bad IMO. good luck

Member Mudder67 put a '67 body on a late '70's K-series 4x4 chassis. It can be done, but the wheelbases are different as said above. I think you have to run a body lift too.
As said above, the Blazer wheelbase is much shorter than the pickup's wheelbase, so you would either have to stretch the frame or hack up the bed of the truck. IMO you would be better off buying a 4x4 or a more correct 4x4 chassis to put your body on. Good luck
