key swap
hi all,
I just got a new set of lock and ignition keys for the truck. Any info out there about how to swap the ignition tumbler? I can't find the old key, either, am I screwed? should I just call the locksmith? jason |

you have to take the wheel off and someother stuff inside the column out and then there is i cant remember 1 or 2 screws holding the tumbler in.

Check out this web site
http://home.t-online.de/home/O_Scholz/steering.html It shows a tilt column. A non-tilt column is little easier, but not much different if your just changing the ignition cylinder. The first time you remove the clip that holds down the lock plate, you might cuss a bit. Good luck |

Still have the tool for depressing the locking plate to get that first snap ring off.
