To dark out side to go look at mine, but from the assembly manual in the 69 picture the little black deal is made on to the window liner that goes in the rear window guide. Looks to all be made as one piece and has "cement .032 oz"

Looked at mine today on the 72 and it looks to be made about the one in the manual, but has one phillips screw on the top out side part. Would think start at the bottom of the liner and go up, after removing the screw if present. LMC catalog shows it as one peice also, if you have one of their catalogs.

"a Few 72"s" Is Correct As Usual, The Screw Is Pretty Small If It Is
Still Present, I Had One With & One Without? Go Figure? Rednecks?

Remove the little phillips screw from the top and pull straight up. This will remove the whole part which is the piece on top that holds it in place and the rear window channel that is connected to it. Also made of rubber it's all one piece.
