Where do i get front brake hoses?
Where can i find front brake hoses for my '72 C10 with disc front brakes? None of the auto parts stores around here can get them, i bought a pair from LMC (yeah i know, but i've had good luck with them in the past) and they don't fit. The hex part of the hose end where it connects to the hard metal line is too big to fit through the bracket on the upper A arm, and there is a clip on them that is totally different than the stock clip. I doubt they sent me the wrong part, since the part number on the bag they came in is the same as the PN listed in the magazine.
There is a place about an hour and a half away that i hear can make me a hose, but i would need to borrow a vehicle to go up there or bum a ride. I need to use my truck for work, so i am SOL until it is back on the road. Anyone know of a supplier for the lines, besides LMC?

im willing to bet the auto parts stores around you have the hoses on the shelf. there computer might say they dont but make them look it up in the book. and if your only problem is they wont slide into the holder thats not a big deal file the hole out its probably so rusty and built up no new hose is going to slide in there

napa has the passenger side in it's book but not drivers side.
if you'd of just took a file and spent the afternoon filing the hole you'd be on the road already

It's been a while, but I remeber some one else having this problem 6 months or so back. rememeber someone mentioned that the hose from a buick or something worked as an exact replacement. Couldn't find it on a serach though. Must have gotten lost or something in the tranformation of the board.

i don't know but it just seems to me that if you already have the hoses and they'll work by mearly spending a little time filing the mounts, and you don't own a file that you'd be better off spending that $30per hose plus gas money running around trying to find something else that you'd be alot better off in the long run going and spending the $60-$80 on buying yourself a good quality assortment of files. i'm old think weird and like to have the right tool for the job
