Put the gasket on the glass. Then take a piece of small rope, I have even twisted together 3 or 4 pieces of masons line in a pinch, and tuck it into the groove that goes onto the body. Start at the bottom and go all the way around and overlap it back at the bottom. Then put the glass against the body and have some body hold it there, make sure it is centered, don't favor the top or bottom, just hold it where it is going to sit when done. Then go inside the caband start gently pulling on the string, so that the gasket starts coming over the edge of the lip on the body. You may want to do a little on one side then a little on the other so that it seats evenly. Then after the gasket is pulled through all the way around give the glass an open handed whack on the outside to seat the gasket in place.

You would be amazed at how easy it actually is to do. Two guys that have done it before can do it in less than five minutes. It take more to explain than it does to do the job. Dishwashing liquid is a great lube for this and it rinses right off no mess.
