Welcome back old friend...
Last Friday night, i was out on the town, cruising and hanging out in my 97 Z-71. Get ready to go home for the night, so i make one last lap. There were some crowds out, so i couldn't help but fire it up a bit, as there's nothing like an extended cab truck doing a burnout with 20's. Well, i make my rounds, and head home. As soon as i pull into the drive way, steams starts rolling out from under the hood. After working all day Saturday, even replacing a water pump that wasn't even bad, i find that the intake gasket is blown, causing my water leak.
Enter my 84 C10. I bought the truck back in September, but its been put on the back burner for a while, as other things have taken priority in my life at the moment. I know its just a truck, but i feel i've neglected it. But, its never forsaken me. When i figured out that my Z wouldn't be running to take me to work today, the 84 seemed to be calling me. So i fixed a small leak in the tranny, filled it up with fluid, secured the driver's side bucket, bolted in a seat belt for me, and took her for a spin. Its just a good feeling for me to be in the seat of that old truck. Sure its a little crude after being in the luxury of today's vehicles, but i wouldn't get rid of this truck for anything. Sorry for rambling, but just wanted to get that off my chest. |

Very cool story, almost made me cry.
Seriously, I know what you are talking about.
