Dimmer Switch

I had my truck inspected today and everything was good exept for my dimmer switch. It was stuck in the high beam mode and would not switch to low. We replaced it and all is well but what has me concerned is that when we pulled the old one out it was very hot. Could this be due to it stuck in the High setting or it just shorted out?

It may have been shorted and stuck on the high side. Not to worry though. You took care of it. Check the wiring to make sure you don't have any places where it might short out.

Everything looks good with the wiring. Thanks for the quick reply Mike.
