Question Automatic steering column question

can someone tell me what this wires to. I'm swapping from stick to auto and just pulled my old steering column. The auto column has this and my old stick column didn't. there is also an extra black wire alongside the connector that im not sure of.

You got you 2 neutral saftey... ( hmmm Purple and Yellow... trying to remember as I type) wires to that switch and a couple wires for the reverse lights ( 2 greens.. also thinking about it) on that unit also. Being that yours had a standard shift .. your harness wont have the neutral saftey wires. Wont have the reverse light wires handy under the dash either if it was a 4 speed truck.

Ypu may want to swap in a an automatic inner harness ... make sure you get the proper inner harness you want as full guage and plain standard light indictors arew different harnesses. GMCPauls I think still has a page on converting the harness to full guage from plain light if you choose to go that way.

But all in all it can be converted or swapped over pretty easy.
