1972 2wd SWB swap to 1970 4x4 SWB questions
If I were to swap the complete body from a 72' 1/2 ton SWB truck onto a 70' SWB 4x4 frame, what else besides the bolt-in transmission hump do i need to change to make it all work? Do i need a different core-support, body mounts? Also, whats the easiest way to swap a cab (as in lifting it onto the frame)?

I think the hump and a body mount kit should be all that you need. The rubber bushings for the mounting kit are different for the four wheel drives. As far as lifting the cab....a 24 case of brews and some good buddies if you don't have a dolley/lift. My main question is why would you do this? You have a *****in lookin truck as it is.

Whats the difference in the body-mount kit? Could I use the mounts that came on the 4x4 frame?
As for why I'm doing this...I'm still not sure...I guess maybe its becuase I'm young and I still dont know what I want to do, I hate to sit and look at the truck all winter in the shop, I've gotta be doing something to it. And as of now If I want to go any lower with it, its going to start costing some serious money and cutting on a nice 2wd Short frame. Plus it would mean sectioning the front crossmember, fabing up a new steering setup, different wheels and tires, a notch as well as new exhaust fabbed up. Now being on a high-school budget, its kind of hard to get things done on your own. I've had fun with the airbags and now I want to try the 4x4 thing this winter, which is something I've always wanted to do with this truck. Someday maybe It'll be as nice as Ponts K

The rubber bushings etc are the only difference that I saw. It just looks like they are different in pictures. Does the frame that you have have all of the bushings/bolts? Are you then selling the frame that you have?

Yes I'm pretty sure the frame has all of the bushings and bolts with it, so it should be pretty straight forward then?
Also, yes I will be selling my current frame/suspension/drivetrain setup if this all falls together. However, boardmember cheyenne10 has his name on the frame setup, but i will post an ad if he passes on it.

Kenny the only difference in bushings is the rear cab bushings . The 4x4 bushings are taller than the 2x4 1/2 ton . The rest of the mount bushings are the same . Oh one more thing the rear cab bushings on a 4x4 are the same as the 3/4 ton 2x4 . Jose
