1968 Grille
I have a 1968 GMC truck with a 1967 chrome grille, the problem is that the chrome is showing its age and I want to replace it. There is a 1969-72 GMC Longhorn that is being stripped at a local wrecking yard with a mint grille and front bumper. The question I have is if these two items will fit on my truck and still look right, or if when they changed the hood in 69 they changed the grills. P.S. the front bumper is notched down by the turn signals.

the problem w/ the 69-72 grilles is that they are apart of the fenders too. correct me if i'm wrong. therefore the match won't look right and the 67 hood won't close w/ a 69=72 grille.

To retain your 68 hood you would need to drill out the rivets on the top of the 69 - 72 grill that attaches the top bar and switch it with the 67 top bar...... Otherwise you need the 69 - 72 hood and all the fender chrome

The 69-72 GMC grill won't work without changing the headlight buckets(GMC uses 4 small headlights). The fenders are the same between 67-68 chevy and all 67-72 GMC's, but 69-72 GMC hoods are the same as the chevy hoods of the same years. Are you confused yet?
