So when do these trucks officially become an addiction?
If I'm not offically addicted, I'm close. Bought another 72, this time a 72 3/4ton Burb. This is the 3rd project truck in less than a year. I guess to fill out the 72 collection I now need a 72 Blazer.

As soon as you start thinkin about what you'll fix up first, its an addiction. If you have to ask, then your already addicted. Try to even it out by drankin beer while you work on the truck.

It's like crack man...it pulls you in from the very first time you try it...there is no known cure either...you can walk away from it, but it will always be on your mind. The first time you smell the "old truck smell" again, you will be back buying junk that needs work. Have Fun...everyone is doing it!!

Addicted.....
Addicted is when you have a custom made tow bar to fit the front frame horns to tow home your next project and you carry it around with you. Hey, I'm not there yet but looks like a slick way to talk myself into more non-drivers!!

Well it's good to have such a great support group for my addiction. The problem is that most support groups don't sell you your addiction.
Gimme another truck, I need one now!!

Here we go again!
I am talking to a guy about buying a SWB truck...for the third time. No, not talking for the third time---buying that same truck for the third time. I have owned it twice before, and I think it is coming back in trade on a different one.
I think that still only counts as one truck, doesn't it? That's not the same as being addicted and buying three trucks, is it? I am sure I am still OK and I can control it. I could quit at any time, if I wanted to. So I am not addicted, am I? |

When you buy the 72 2wd Jimmy that you've been wanting and know you need to get rid of the 70 C-10 but just can't force yourself to do so. You then are addicted

My addiction started about 25yrs ago....no turning back now! I have had several daily drivers in the 67-72 era, & at one time had enough parts to build a couple extra trucks. the wifey got a little p'oed when the rental trailer with parts cost more than the truck parts(back from kentucky , on vacation) that was many yrs ago, & she finally gave up fighting the issue(that was the only choice ). i still have 1 in my stable.....that old longhorn is the one that has drawn the most blood. Still not painted after all these yrs, but i can turn the key in the switch & go play. that old truck gets a lot of looks, runs like "stink" , & is a handfull to hang onto at times! rule #1, DO NOT stand on an eaton posi while going around a corner! As long as that old truck is , she will turn around fast on that "rear wheel steer".....yes i am an addict......i doubt that will change very soon tho....crazyL
